am i doing it wrong? should i blow dry it in? Usually i just have dry hair already and then put the stuff in it. i like to flair out the back bottom part of my hair, from like about my ear level on down, i guess some people call'em "wings"? - same things happen it goes down after very short amount of time i like to brush the hair on my sides forward - none of the stuff keeps it forward, i have to keep on pushing it forward throughout the day cuz it falls down - ive tried hairspray, wax, paste, cream, got2b hair glue - all falls downĢ.

for my bangs i like to swipe them to the side and i can usually get that to hold with hairspray.ġ. Well they all seem to end up doing the same thing and work out anywhere from a minute to like 1hour before going 'limp' and flattening out. You could also try blow-drying your hair with your head upside down (i'll be honest, it's not very comfortable, but at least it works ) and blowing it with cold air once you're done to hold the style.Īlternatively, back-comb your hair at the roots to create knots for the hair to rest on, making it look bigger.Ĭool u both seem to know a lot bout hair xD Like I say though, avoid 'volumizing' conditioners, and look for a clarifying one instead.

I wouldn't recommend stopping using conditioner it really helps to keep your hair healthy. One trick you might consider if you don't wish to change hair colour is to simply dye your hair the same colour it is naturally purely for the added volume. Basically, avoid volumizing products as 90% of the time they're counter-productive.ĭying hair actually adds volume as it permeates the hair shaft which gives the result of a volumizing product without the additional weight. In answer to your question on gaining volume in the hair, the problem you've described when using volumizing products is because they cover the hair in product, which works for a small amount of time (as you've found), but then the additional weight in the hair due to being coated in product pulls it back down and makes it as flat/flatter than before. What result are you looking for when using the product? I'm sure I could recommend something Oh and abit of hair spray to finish off lol Gel sure as hell wont work with long hair, ive found "for me personally" texturising paste and creams are by far the best for longish hair, i use V05 surfstyle texturing paste, you can use well enough to style your hair without it looking wet, sticky or weird lol, oh and you can wash out pretty easy too Hey tis hard finding products to match your hair and style, because everyone has differant hair lol, have you tryed all the products youve listed? if so you must have some idea what works and what doesnt. I have coarse hair, but thin (im not thinning out, i just always had thin hair ever since i was born) I like to be able to wash whatever is in my hair out every night.Īlso can anyone recommend something good to keep my hair from flattening out over the course of the day? the volumizing stuff sort of works but after like an hour my hair comes back down. I have hairspray, pomeade, hair wax, hair cream, hair putty, hair glue, hair mousse, volumizing mousse, volumizing spray, gel, texturizing cream, texturizing paste, spray on wax(bad bad bad i couldnt get it out for like 3 days). But now I have longer shaggy/emoish hair and Ive bought all kinds of crap and Im lost. Before I had short spiky hair and all I used was gel. Ive bought so many kinds and have no clue what the difference is or how its suppose to be used or if it can only be used for one type of hair.
Emo hair flick how to#
Can anyone help me figure out how to use these hair products.
